█ ABOUT █
Over the last few years, drum and bass producer Sub Focus has become one of, if not the, major player in DnB circles. Having only released a hand full of singles in his career to date he enjoys success way beyond the realms of the DnB dance floor. To date he's had a "Record Of The Week" with Zane Lowe for X Ray and Nihal with Timewarp and has enjoyed records on Radio 1's Upfront, C and B play lists.
This, the lead single before the release of his debut album this summer, is a great example of Sub Focus eclectic and impeccable influences. Opening with dramatic riffs laced with quirky synths, Rock It gradually gains speed to reach DnB tempo without loosing his trademark infectious party vibe. If uber cool French label Ed Banger released drum and bass: Rock It would be their first choice.
Double A side, 'Follow The Light', is an awesome piece of musical production in it's own right. This has become one of the most anticipated releases for Ram Records and Sub Focus since he debuted it nationally during his DJ set at Glastonbury that was broadcast live on Radio 1. As such it soon become Zane Lowes "Hottest Record In The World" and has gained numerous plays since radio wise and and has become a permanent fixture in the sets of dance musics A list DJ's world-wide.
Undeniably one of the most talented and talked about drum and bass producers of this decade, Sub Focus is displaying a real talent at incorporating elements from an eclectic range of influences to give his music a universal appeal, the same way Pendulum exploded in 2005 by drawing from their rock debuts, and Chase & Status got inspired by the UK urban flavors for last years massive More Than Alot, this single gives you a definite taste of the forthcoming LP and announces that 2009 belongs to Sub Focus.
